Scratched skin

Brambles fighting back

Creeping their way

Through the undergrowth

Worse than a snake.

Blood droplets as

Red as the berry juice.

This isn't a device,

It's a fruit

And we relish the sweet, tangy

Popping delights.

Free for any passer-by

Willing to risk

Life and limb.

We risked sticky

Fingers and a clean

White shirt.

It was worth it.
